Dear AuburnFootball.com subscriber :

Friends, family, and neighbors — many of you have probably heard of Dr. Ron Paul, a Texas medical doctor and United States Congressman, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.   I have become a staunch supporter of Dr. Paul in his bid to become the next president of the United States.  My support for Dr. Paul stems from his consistent commitment to restoring the Constitution and rule of law to our federal government, as evidenced by a twenty year distinguished congressional career.

I have only grown into a strong supporter of Congressman Paul over the past six months, after over a decade of cynicism and political apathy. In fact, he’s the first candidate I’ve EVER volunteered to support with either money or time. I’ve grown increasingly concerned with our national trajectory over the past few years, and believe that our current path of a government, one that continues growing without bounds, will lead to an extremely unhappy place. We likely share many of the same concerns regarding the social and economic issues that increasingly divide our country, and for the first time we’re blessed with a candidate that actually acknowledges the problems that we face, and supports a consistent platform to address those challenges based upon the Constitution.

The greatest thing about Rep. Paul’s candidacy is that he has a foundation based upon our founding documents — the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Agree or disagree, they are simple documents that make for substantial discussions. And confidence in having those discussions as Americans (forget all the other labels!) should encourage each of us to ask questions, learn, and speak freely.

I’ve never before felt comfortable discussing politics in an unsolicited manner with friends, neighbors, and colleagues. However, I’m increasingly convinced that such reluctance is no longer justified, and in fact contributes to the continued decline of our nation. I respectfully ask that you take a look at Congressman Paul. My supporting Rep. Paul grew from weeks of studying and fact checking his writings at http://www.ronpaullibrary.org — this web site catalogs all of his writings (speeches, constituent communications) from the last ten years of his Congressional career.

Simply speaking, Dr. Ron Paul is the only pro-life, small government, pro-freedom, and fiscally conservative candidate that possesses real Christian and family values, based on a voting record of uncompromising ideals.  Dr. Paul, a former flight surgeon in the United States Air Force, is also strongly supported by our military.  In fact, Dr. Paul has received more campaign financial support from our troops than any other candidate, either Republican or Democrat.  You can find out more about Dr. Paul and his supporters at www.ronpaul2008.com.

Please forgive me if I have intruded on your time, but only do so because your vote is extremely valuable to me.   I am also on the ballot as a delegate to the Republican National Convention and would appreciate your support as well.  Look for Thomas A. “T” Price, III in Place 6 of the Alabama Republican ballot.

Sincerely,

T. Price

PS.  Many people have told me that they love Dr. Paul's platform, but don't think he can win!  When the people think like this, it can become a self-fulfilling statement . Please vote for a candidate who best espouses your ideas and convictions. Don't let pollsters and the media decide who you can and can't vote for, or even who you "should" vote for based on who would fare better in future match-ups. When we let the pollsters and big media determine which candidates to consider, it is a subversion of the entire democratic process.

Your "one vote" has the same exact same power to affect the results whether you vote for a major or minor candidate, plus, a vote for the candidate you respect and agree with gives you clear conscious when you walk out of the voting booth.  People take notice of each vote - kind of like the philosophy that every penny counts .... and that the world has to be changed one person at a time.
